Двукратный олимпийский чемпион Евгений Плющенко во вторник дебютировал в качестве тренера на соревнованиях. Событие это по времени практически совпало с новостью о пропуске сезона другой фигуристкой специалиста – Аделиной Сотниковой. В разговоре с корреспондентом агентства "Р-Спорт" Анатолием Самохваловым Плющенко ответил, что готов раскрыть то, что опровергнет все домыслы по поводу надуманного характера травмы Сотниковой, на чем основана вера в ее дальнейшие перспективы и что она должна сделать, чтобы Плющенко от нее отказался.

Сотникова будет лечиться в Германии

- Очень многие не верят, что реальная причина пропуска сезона Аделиной – травма. Склоняются, что это очередная пиар-акция.

- Это просто исключено, никакого пиара мы не собирались делать, не делаем и не будем делать на этом. Аделина пока не хочет ничего комментировать, но я думаю, что заключение врачей по ее диагнозу мы можем продемонстрировать. Это можно сделать открыто. Дело в том, что Аделина пришла ко мне с готовностью полноценно тренироваться. У нее был лишний вес, и мы начали его сгонять, после чего произошла травма. Мы ездили в шоу в Японию, на одном концерте она прыгала, а все остальные дни мы провели без прыжков. На шоу в Италии она тоже выступала без прыжковых элементов.

Знаете, мне тоже многие не верили, вернусь ли я в спорт, не вернусь… Была ли операция… Злых людей очень много. Успешных вообще не любят. На днях я сказал Аделине: "Нам надо доказать, что мы в спорте. Восстановить здоровье и силы". И, может быть, в этом даже сезоне выступить на каких-то маленьких соревнованиях.

- В этом сезоне?

- После Олимпиады, но в этом сезоне все же вряд ли. Скорее в следующем. И далее подготовиться к большим стартам. Она мне ответила, что готова. И я вам скажу, что она готова головой, готова морально, и у нее есть большое желание выступать. Сейчас же первое, о чем мы думаем - залечить травму. Я вам уже говорил, что диагноз был поставлен неверно. Вначале врачи диагностировали растяжение связки, а на деле оказался чуть ли не надрыв. И перелом в ступне маленькой косточки. Сейчас я жду МРТ и отсылаю его своим врачам в Германию. Знакомым мне людям. После чего отправлю Аделину лечиться туда же, в Германию.

- О периоде восстановления говорить рано?

- Очень рано.

- Многие, кстати, говорят, что происходящее с Сотниковой – это копия того, что происходило с вами. Вначале было грандиозное намерение, потом откладывание. Я сам, не зная, естественно, вашей ситуации изнутри, реально склонялся к тому, что вам выгодно оставаться де-факто действующим спортсменом и это позитивно влияет на продвижение ваших шоу-проектов.

- Полная ерунда. Для этого мне оставаться в спорте было вообще ни к чему. За свою карьеру я получил годовую дисквалификацию после Олимпиады 2010 года, потому что у нас были не очень хорошие отношения с федерацией и я, можно сказать, получил дисциплинарное наказание. Потом я вернулся в спорт, ушел из него, затем вновь вернулся. Вы знаете, если б то, о чем вы говорите, было пиаром, я вообще не возвращался бы в спорт. Я бы ушел и крутил бы тему "вернусь, вернусь, вернусь", но не возвращался бы. Но я вернулся и выступил с сумасшедшей травмой после операции.

Аделина, посмотрев на меня, пришла и сказала: "Ты знаешь, как восстанавливаться и возвращаться в спорт. Я хочу с тобой тренироваться". Я ответил: "Окей, нет никаких проблем, хорошо". Да, в этом году не получилось, но ничего страшного, она молодая девка еще! Может кататься сколько угодно. А по поводу того, что я оставался в спорте ради пиара шоу… Да полная чепуха! Я тридцать лет в спорте, моего имени достаточно, чтобы быть успешным в шоу.

Зачем я буду дурачить людей?

- Почему тогда сразу не успокоились и не закончили?

- Потому что у меня было желание откататься на пятой Олимпиаде. Я поставил цель – добиться рекорда, чтоб вообще никто этого не повторил. Но у меня не получилось. Но мечта ведь была! Я жил ей, она такая классная, эта история. Суперистория, нереальная. Но когда я начал прыгать аксель в три с половиной оборота, прыжки в четыре оборота, к сожалению, 15 операций напомнили о себе. Пятнадцать! Спина не позволила, и я принял решение уйти. И я сделал это без всякого пафоса, как многие. Без эпических шоу с плачем на сцене. Кто-то в таких случаях рыдает на публике, а я просто начал новую жизнь. Открыл школу, воспитываю спортсменов с нашими прекрасными тренерами, у меня продолжаются шоу – "Щелкунчик" – 23 шоу, "Снежный король" - 6, скоро аншлаги по Европе – будет 10 концертов, в Японии – 42.

- Солидно.

- Все хорошо.

- Когда наступил момент, когда поняли: "Все, не могу"?

- Провел рядовую тренировку, зашел в раздевалку, сел на скамейку и… не смог разогнуть спину. Прихватило. Посмотрел в зеркало и спросил себя: "Зачем?". Зачем я буду дурачить людей? Я мог бы тянуть эту историю и говорить, что буду готовиться к Олимпийским играм, но в тот момент я перестал в это верить. "Все, спорт в моей жизни завершен", - признал я и объявил о начале тренерской карьеры.

- Сотникова была нужна вам в качестве эдакого держака, топ-фигуры?

- Это она пришла ко мне, а не я за ней. Я ни в коем случае никого не переманивал, не просил, не умолял. Она мне позвонила и сказала: "Жень, я хочу с тобой встретиться". Я ответил: "Приезжай ко мне в школу". Потом она произнесла те самые слова.

- "Ты знаешь, как восстанавливаться и возвращаться в спорт. Я хочу с тобой тренироваться"?

- Да, но я обозначил свое условие. Если ты готова тренироваться в полную силу, давай работать. Вот и весь разговор.

- Вы удивились, когда она пришла к вам с такими словами?

- Нет. Она участвовала в моих шоу, и я видел ее настрой. Понимаете, даже по шоу видно, спортсмен перед тобой или собственно просто актер. Я разговаривал с ней на темы будущего тогда, и она твердо говорила: "Я буду продолжать спортивную карьеру". Я говорил ей: "Это очень сложно. Безумно сложно". Но она все равно стояла на своем. А сейчас я ей открыто сказал: "Аделина, главное, чтобы наше намерение пропустить лишь этот сезон, не осталось на словах. Нам надо выйти и соревноваться в следующем году. Пускай мы будем начинать с маленьких соревнований. Я же тоже с них начинал, где-нибудь в Риге. А потом уже до больших дойдем". Я прекрасно знаю, как готовиться в той ситуации, в которой оказалась Аделина. Но вокруг нас много злых языков.

- Особенно в нашей стране.

- Да, особенно в нашей. И все они "профессионалы", знающие больше нас. Я в своей школе открыл доступ родителям на тренировку, так, я вам скажу, что родители знают больше, чем тренер. В технике, в хореографии - везде родитель знает больше меня. Смотрят, руководят, управляют своим ребенком. Но мы это стараемся сразу пресечь.

- Тренеры вообще-то ограничивают посещение родителями тренировок детей.

- У меня такого желания нет. Пусть смотрят. Пока.

"Ледниковый период" шел Сотниковой во вред


- Я так понял из вашего объяснения, что Аделину во время сотрудничества в шоу вы пытались вывести на ответ, действительно ли ей нужен спорт?

- Да, я пытался это понять для себя. Профессиональный спорт – это ведь полный режим. Ходишь только на тренировки и больше никуда. Когда Аделина уже оказалась у меня, она осознавала необходимость тотальной концентрации на спорте.

- Как вы думаете, после такой востребованности в шоу, различных рекламных проектах ее реально было вернуть на лед именно для качественной спортивной подготовки?

- Любого можно вернуть. Главное, чтобы спортсмен захотел.

- Придется ей ради этого от чего-то отказываться?

- От всего.

- От всего того, что есть у нее сейчас?

- Конечно. Ни на шаг вправо, ни на шаг влево она не имеет права. Если ты в спорте, то у тебя утренняя тренировка, отдых, дневная тренировка, отдых, вечерняя тренировка, отдых. Все. Весь выбор.

- Эта травма голеностопа не склоняет ее к тому, чтобы угомониться?

- Нет, я по-прежнему наблюдаю у нее огромный настрой.

- Мне так и не удалось записать с ней интервью. В очередной раз она отказалась от комментариев на балу олимпийцев в декабре прошлого года. Но я ей почему-то крикнул: "Возвращайтесь". И она ответила: "Обязательно".

- И она не лукавила. Настрой у нее был потрясающий. Но чтобы ей выйти на прежний уровень, нужен год полноценной правильной подготовки. Год, и она сможет конкурировать с теми девочками, которые сегодня на виду.

- Для прежнего тренера Сотниковой Елены Буяновой стал сюрпризом ее уход в телепроект Ильи Авербуха "Ледниковый период".

- Я думаю, у спортсмена и тренера было какое-то недопонимание, потому что тренер должен, конечно, быть в курсе всего, что происходит со спортсменом. Если у них был запланирован спортивный сезон, то никаких "ледниковых проектов" не должно было быть. Шоу в таких случаях должны быть сведены до минимума. И то, катать на них нужно не показательные номера, а короткую и произвольную программы. Тогда это будет идти в "плюс". А "Ледниковый период" ей шел во вред.

- Если Сотникова придет к вам и скажет: "Я хочу принять участие в телепроекте"?

- Тогда я полностью откажусь от тренерской деятельности со спортсменкой.

- Во вторник вы дебютировали на соревнованиях в качестве тренера. На первенстве Москвы среди юниоров выступила Ксения Панкова. Довольны ею?

- По элементам – да. Но кое-где она была медленной. Скорость нужно добавлять. Раньше Ксюша делала очень много "бабочек", сейчас мы это исправили, и мне это очень радостно. В произвольной она исполняет каскад "двойной аксель-ойлер-тройной флип", "двойной аксель-тройной тулуп". Сейчас мы завершаем работу над четверным сальховом и надеюсь, что на следующий год она его запрыгает на соревнованиях. В этом сезоне мы должны показать, что мы можем выступать на турнирах и что мы не хуже других. Я очень доволен работой нашей тренерской команды, а над программами работал Давид Авдыш.

- У вас также выступает 18-летний Владимир Самойлов. Зачем вам зрелый, можно сказать, по меркам фигурного катания спортсмен?

- Слушайте, я беру всех, кто к нам приходит. Володя сейчас запрыгал четверной флип, он владеет четверным сальховом. Эти прыжки он вставляет в произвольную программу. Почему я должен его не взять? Единственное, нет у него стабильности, но он катается у меня только месяц, и за это время он выучил флип в четыре оборота. Мне кажется, это неплохой результат.

- Кто-то долгое время не может приспособиться к тренерству. Как вы себя ощущаете в этой роли?

- Я только начал, и мне это нравится. У меня должно получиться. Я в своей стихии, для меня ничего не поменялось.

- От чего вам самому придется отказываться?

- Ни от чего.

- Как? Аделине от всего, а вам - ни от чего?

- Я достаточно много разъезжаю по шоу, а на месте остаются мои тренеры. У нас очень сплоченный коллектив, и я ему очень благодарен. Когда я в России, я тренирую сам, когда нет - смотрю тренировки по камерам, которые передают изображение на мой смартфон. А потом по скайпу общаюсь со спортсменом. Кстати, на шоу в Казахстан я взял Ксюшу Панкову, она у меня там выступала и тренировалась. В этом году я ничего менять не собираюсь, выступлю практически во всех запланированных мероприятиях.

- Неужели отдаленно можно влиять на подготовку спортсмена?

- Ну вроде бы результат есть. Посмотрим, что будет завтра.

For now Adelina is not commenting on anything, but think we will be able to show the doctors' verdict on her injury. It can be done openly. Adelina came to me and was ready to train full time. She was a bit overweight, we started losing it and then the injury happened. We went to a show in Japan, she did the jumps one evening and spent the rest of the days with no jumps. In Italy she was also performing without the jumps
You know, many didn't believe me either whether I'll come back or not... Whether there was a surgery or not.. There are so many mean people. Successfull people are not much loved. A couple of days ago I told Adelina `We have to prove we are in the sport. By getting healthy'. Perhaps she'll even participate some small competition this season.

AS: This season?
EP: After the Olympics. Well, probably not. More like the next season. And then will prepare to the main competitions. She said she is ready. And let me tell you, she is mentally ready, she has a will to compeet. The main thing now is to mend the injury. I told you, she was misdiagnosed - first the doctors claimed a stretched lingament, but in real life it was almost a tear. And a broken small bone. Am now waiting for the scans which I'll send my doctors to Germany. To people I know. After which I'll send Adelina there to be treated.

AS: Is it too premature to talk about the time it'll take
EP: Very premature.

AS: Many claim what happens to Sotnikova is the copy of what happened to you. First there was a grandiose promise and then it was postponed. Of course without knowing your situation in details I tend to think it's worthy remaining an athlete in the team, it's good for promoting your show.
EP: Nonsense. I didn't need to stay in the sports for that at all. During my career I was disqualified for a year after 2010 Olympics because my relationships with the federation were so so. I then came back, retired again and came back again. If what you are saying was just for PR I wouldn't have bothered coming back. I would retire and promise `I'll come back, I'll come back!!!' and wouldn't. But I did and competed with a horrid injury after the surgery.
Adelina, looking at me came and said `You know how to recover and come back. I want to work with you'. I said `ok, no problem, fine'. Yes, it didn't work this year, nevermind, she is a young girl! She can skate for as long as she likes. As for me staying in the sports for the PR of my shows... nonsense! I spent 30 years in the sport, my name only is enough for promotion.

AS: Then why haven't you retired at once?
EP: Because I so wanted to participate the 5th Olympics. I set a goal - do set a new record, something that no one had ever done before. It didnt' work. But it was a dream! I was living it, it's such a great story. Superstory, unreal. But when I started practicing the 3A the quads, unfortunately the 15 surgeries reminded they happened. 15! My back didn't allow me to go on and I retired. And I did it without the drama like some. No epic show with tears on the stage. Some are crying in public, I just started a new life. Opened a school and work with my great team. My shows are still running - the `Nutcracker' - 23 shows, the `Snow king' - 6, soon we'll hold 10 shows in Europe and 42 in Japan.

AS: Not bad
EP: All is fine.

AS: When the moment `that's it, I'm done' came?
EP: I had a routine practice, came to the dressing room, sat down and.. was unable to unfold. My back hurt. I looked in the mirror and asked myself `what for?'. What for am I lying? I could go on and say I will get ready for the Olympics, but at that moment I stopped believing it. `That's it, my athlete's days are gone' and I started coaching.

AS: Did you need Sotnikova for a top skater in your group?
EP: She came to me. Not the other way around. I didn't ask her nor begged. She called and said `Zhenya, I want to meet up'. I told her to come to the school. Then she said those words.

AS: `You know how to recover and come back, I want to work with you?'
EP: Yes. But I had a condition. If you are ready to work full time - lets do that. That's it.

AS: Were you surprised when she came to you with these words?
EP: No. She participated my shows and I saw her state of mind. See, even in the show it's obvious whether it's an athelte or an actor in front of you. I spoke to her about her future plans back then and she was strict `I will compete'. I told her `It's so hard. Endlessly hard'. She insisted. I told her openly `Adelina, the most important is that our decision to miss this season only will not remain empty words. We have to go out and compete the next year. We might do the small competition. I started with that. Say, in Riga. Then the main ones'. I know how to get out from the situation Adelina is in right now. But there are so many negative talks aroudn us.

AS: Especially in our country.
EP: Especially. All those `professionals' who know more than we do. I let the parents see the practices in my school, so let me tell you, they think they know more than a coach. In technique, choreography - everything. The parents know more than I do. They stand there and control their kids. But we are trying to cut that short.

AS: Many coaches don't allow parents to the practices.
EP: I don't feel like doing it yet. Let them watch. For now.

AS: I understood it from your explanation that while working with Adelina in the show you were trying to get whether she needs the sports?
EP: I was trying to understand. The professional sport is a very strict routine. You only practice and nothing more. When Adelina came to me she understood the need to focus on the sports only.

AS: Do you think being so demanded in the shows and commercials it was possible to get her back on the ice and be an athlete?
EP: Anyone can come back. The most important is for the athlete to want it themselves.

AS: Will she have to give something up?
EP: Everything.

AS: All she has now.
EP: Of course. She won't have a right for a step left or right. If you are an athlete - it's a morning practice, rest, day practice, rest, evening practice, rest. That's it. That's all your have.

AS: Is that injury convincing her to give up?
EP: I still see how determined she is.

AS: I was unable to interview her. When she declined an interview yet again in December last year I don't know why but I shouted at her back `Come back!' and she said `Definetely'
EP: She meant it. She had the great set of mind. But in order to be back to the previous level she needed a year of pracitce. A year and she will be competitive with the girls who are skating now.

AS: For her previous coach Elene Buyanova Sotnikova's participating Averbukh's Ice Age came as a surprise.
EP: I think they must have had a misunderstanding, because, of course, the coach should know what is going on with the athlete. If they had a plan there should had been no `Ice Age'. The shows should had been down to a minimum and even then she would be skating not the exhibition numbers, btu the SP and LP. Then it would be beneficial. The `Ice age' was not.

AS: If Sotnikova comes to you and says `I want to participate a TV show'?
EP: I will decline coaching her.

AS: This Tuesday you debuted as a coach in a competition. Ksenia Pankova participated the Moscow junior competition. Are you satisfied?
EP: With the elements, yes, but she was sometimes slow. We have to speed her up. Previously she used to pop a lot of jumps, we worked on that and I'm happy about that. She does a 2a-euler-3f and 2a-3t in her LP. We are now working on a 4S and, hope, next year she'll land it in the competitions. This season we have to show we are not worse than the otehrs. Am very satisfied with the coaching team work and David Avdysh worked on the programmes.

AS: You also coach a 18y.o Vladimir Samoilov. Why do you need an adult skater?
EP: Look, I work with whoever comes to us. Vladimir is landing a 4F, he has a 4S. He integrages those jumps in his LP. Why wouldn't I work with him? Yes, he is not consistent, but he've been working with me for just a month and during that month he learned a 4F. I think it's a decent result.

AS: Some take a while to get used to coach. How do you feel?
EP: I only just began and I like it. It should work for me - it's my thing, nothing have changed.

AS: What will you have to give up?
EP: Nothing.

AS: How come? Adelina will have to give up everything and you - nothing?
EP: I spend a lot of time with my shows while the coaches remain here. We have a great team and am greatful to them. When I'm in Russia I coach myself, when not - I watch the practices through the cameras which are transmitted to my phone. I then talk to the athletes on skype. By the way, I took Ksenia Pankova to a show in Kazakhstan and she both skated and trained there. I don't plan changing anything this year and will participate all the planned shows.

AS: Is it possible to influence the skater's preparations long distance?
EP: Well, it seems to work for now, we'll see what tomorrow will bring.

"I saw Plushenko tonight. He was fabulous. What a presence - I’ve never seen a skater with such blazing confidence. He only skated for 6 minutes but it was worth every penny, neck ache (I was in a corner) and minute of my trek into the city. Two 3F right in front of me, 2 other triples in the other end, and a bit of a scratchy 2A that he carried off royally. Wonderful spins and basically just owning the ice. - А более теплыми отношения с бывшими соперниками становятся после ухода из спорта? Мы сейчас о Евгении Плющенко, к примеру, говорим.

- С Женей так сложилось, что, действительно, на льду мы были соперниками. Собственно, со всеми мы были соперниками на льду, но у него свой круг общения, у меня - свой. Наверное, соперничество никак не отложило никакого отпечатка на наши отношения. Просто мы по-разному смотрим на определенные вещи.
Но абсолютно по-человечески откровенно сейчас говорю, что с большим уважением отношусь к нему именно как к спортсмену.
Тому спортсмену, у которого, извините, "стальные яички", жесткий характер, и он мог заставить соперников бояться себя, еще не выходя на лед.
Это вызывает уважение с моей стороны.
