Dear Sarahjev, it wasn't my intention to add any other comment on the JW-gate, but your kind post moves me to reply, although in a short way.
You say that you're reading a lot of bad comments about this matter in FS forums... Well I'm not surprised, true to form. If the aggressive comments come from homophobic people, well, I don't care about them, as someone well said: "Never argue with a fool. People might not know the difference."
Another thing, instead, if the comments come from gay community. In this case, I can understand some of them. If you are a famous person, and you are gay, you have the chance to speak in favor of the oppressed gay people living all around the world; if you don't do it, surely it's your right, but someone might interpret this choice as a selfish behavior, especially if you live in Usa and not in Russia, Cuba or any other heavily homophobic country.
But as I already said, I well understand the reasons why JW didn't want to disclose his sexual orientation; he's only a boy, a skater, not the Prophet of Abused Gays.
I agree with those who say that judges had been punishing him in his career for not being "discrete". But in my opinion the problem with him is that he tried to be sly, playing coy, so he didn't get the affection of "straight" people and he lost the affection of gay community too: he played as a "not proud gay". But maybe Hollywood is around the corner, and everything will be all right!
