Hello, everyone!
I just came back from Stars on Ice (Astros-Estrelas do Gelo) and I finally got videos, an autograph and pics with Plushy! I don't know if I remember how to do this correctly, so I'll try...but first I'll go to Youtube and start uploading the videos there, hold on!
While I wait for the videos to load, let me write my impressions...well, first of all, we (= my husband and I) left home at 6:30 p.m. (the show was scheduled to start at 7:30), got a taxi and arrived at Ginásio do Ibirapuera (the venue) at 6:45 (yesss, it's really close to my home!). We entered immediately...no lines (queues) whatsoever, and inside the place was almost empty...I think that's why they waited until 8 p.m. to start (that, or because Brazilians have a cultural tendency to arrive late at any event). By then my husband was very bored. The food inside was very expensive - $10 for a bag of popcorn, $12 for a hot dog, $5 for water and $6 for a soft drink. We only had one water...I have a sore throat today, which is very unfortunate :( It's cold here today (for our standards, of course :P).
A lot more people arrived after we did, but still, the gymnasium was basically empty. I think this event wasn't properly divulged - I myself only heard of it a few days ago, and because a friend of mine warned me about it on Facebook. I saw nothing in the press. Sure, Brazil has zero tradition in figure skating, but still...when the Disney show on ice comes to the same place, it's crowded! All of this to say: I hope tomorrow and Sunday will be better in terms of audience.
Right before the show started, it was announced that we couldn't take pictures or film any part of it. That made me sad because I had brought my camera and my husband is a pain in the ass about rules...everytime I took a picture or tried to film, he got angry at me - I didn't care :P I filmed 2 songs from the Phantom of the Opera (the first one with the orchestra only, no skaters), Plushy's presentation, a part from the song "The girl from Ipanema", featuring Brian Boitano and a Brazilian dancer, and a part of the final number. That's it, sorry to disappoint you :( And the quality is probably poor (I haven't seen the videos or photos yet), because we weren't allowed to film or anything, so I was afraid of someone coming and confiscating my camera, AND I was very excited!!! hehehheheh Forgive me!

I never thought I'd get to see ANYBODY skate here (because we're a tropical country, duh! there's the Disney show that happens every once in a while, but that doesn't count :P), let alone Evgeni himself!!! It was really a dream come true to see him skate, especially knowing he recently had a surgery - even if it wasn't a competition, it was still exciting and beautiful! I had only one camera, so I had to decide if I'd film or take pictures...I tried taking pictures and the results were horrible, so I filmed, as you could see above :P
...BUT I also got pictures for you. Even if they suck :P Plus...a surprise: at the end, we asked security about autographs or pictures with the fans, and they said there would be none. Oh well...I was almost leaving, when I saw a group of people also looking for ways to do that. We talked together and decided to ask someone else other than security, and we were told the gate through which the skaters would leave. We were at gate 14 and they were leaving through gate 6. We ran there and waited. Who did we see first?? HIM! I asked for an autograph (I hadn't thought about it before leaving home, so I only had a tiny and crappy piece of paper and 2 pink pens!!) and my husband took a picture of us (my hair was a mess, I came out horrible!) and then I also took some pictures of the other fans. He looked tired or unhappy, I don't know which exactly...or maybe he was disappointed because there were few people. Or because nobody threw anything on the ice (like I said, we don't have tradition in this! I thought about buying a teddy bear but I forgot!)
